Rocky Mountain Power Presents Two UW Faculty Awards for Economic Development
Rocky Mountain Power, in partnership with the University of Wyoming, recognized two current UW faculty members with the UW Faculty Service Award for Economic Development.
Andy Hansen, associate provost and professor of mechanical engineering, and Mike Urynowicz, associate professor in the department of civil and architectural engineering, were honored.
UW Alumni Association Scholarship Auction Nets Record $45,000
The University of Wyoming Alumni Association (UWAA) netted an all-time record of $45,157 during its 21st annual Scholarship Auction, presented by Infinity Power and Controls, Capital One and the Holiday Inn-Laramie.
A sell-out total of 180 UW fans and supporters from across the region attended this year's auction at the Wildcatter Stadium Club and Suites at UW. The proceeds will be used to fund UW student scholarships awarded by the Alumni Association.
Two UW Faculty Members Receive Stewardship Awards
The University of Wyoming awarded President's Faculty Stewardship Awards to professors Larry Weatherford and Doug Hixon.
"When faculty members are willing to go above and beyond in building external relations, the fundraising programs for the university elevate to a higher level," says Ben Blalock, UW Foundation president. "Doug and Larry exemplify faculty members who represent the very best of what the University of Wyoming is all about and communicate that to external constituencies."
