Winners of the UW chapter of the American Pharmacists Association–Academy of Student Pharmacists 2014 Patient Counseling Competition are: first place, Cassandra Hardester (center), from Bakersfield, California; second, Kali Autrey (left), from Kimball, Nebraska; and third, Brandon Anderson (right), from Andover, Minnesota.
Mary Onysko Published in American Family Physician
University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy faculty Mary Onsyko, Pharm.D., BCPS, and former faculty member Katie Thompson, Pharm.D., BCPS, had an article published in the March issue of American Family Physician titled, "Common Questions About Clostridium difficile Infection."
Interprofessional Education Workshop Provides Opportunities for Collaboration
On January 9, 2014, 72 faculty, 2 senior students and the Dean of the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the University of Wyoming gathered for a very successful one-day Interprofessional Education (IPE) Workshop. Twenty-two faculty from the School of Pharmacy attended the workshop and four SOP faculty serve on the CHS IPE Committee.

University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy P4 student Tracey Le, from Anaheim, California, attended the ASHP Midyear meeting in December, where she gave a poster presentation titled, "Assessment of the Knowledge and Awareness of Diet and Other Weight Loss Strategies in Patients Enrolled in an Anticoagulation Clinic."
UW Pharmacy P4 Student Andrew Grothen Presents Poster at ASHP Midyear
Andrew Grothen, a University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy P4 student from Merrimack, New Hampshire, gave a poster presentation titled, "Community Use of Metformin in Patients without Diabetes Taking Antipsychotics and Mood Stabilizers," at the ASHP Midyear meeting in December.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration on Student-Led Research Project
Jenna Allais, P4 pharmacy student from Rock Springs, Wyoming, and Drew Mcmillan, ASPIRE-pre-pharmacy student from Cody, Wyoming, collaborated on a poster presentation at the 2013 American Society of Health System Pharmacists Midyear Meeting in December.

Cara Harshberger Completes the "Dopey Challenge" at Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend
Cara Harshberger, clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice, completed the Dopey Challenge at the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend in January. She ran a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and full Marathon all in four days, for a total of 48.6 miles!
Phi Delta Chi Gives Medication Safety Presentation to the Boy Scouts of America
Nathan Holcomb, Charlie Morrison, Karsten Josie, and Brandon Anderson, members of the UW Alpha Mu chapter of Phi Delta Chi, recently gave a medication safety presentation to a Laramie Boy Scout troop as part of a community outreach service project.
